The Role
We are looking for Medical Practitioners to join our multi-disciplinary team.
We offer flexible working hours and locations including:
Barwon Prison in Lara
Marngoneet Correctional Centre in Lara
Ravenhall Correctional Centre in Ravenhall
Dame Phyllis Frost Centre in Ravenhall
Metropolitan Remand Centre in Deer Park
Our Medical Practitioners are an integral part of the primary healthcare team at the correctional facility with primary responsibilities of a General Practitioner including:
The provision and supervision of medical care to persons in custody
Preparing treatment plans for persons in custody
Evaluation of medical programs and medical services required and/or provided.
Essential experience and attributes include the following selection criteria:
Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience
Fully registered by AHPRA
Flexibility and openness to practice differently
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
ED experience will be highly desirable
Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or Fellowship with The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine is highly desirable
